Resources

Here are some online resources I’ve been using to help me plan my trip, hopefully they can help you do the same!

CouchSurfing.com
This is an online site that helps connect people across the globe who are willing to give up their couch for a visitor or are looking for a couch to crash for a night. Very cool site, easy to use, and a very cheap way to travel.

Engineers Without Borders
This is a great group to support. I will be helping out Engineers Without Borders (EWB) as much as possible while I am traveling, and hopefully putting some of my education to good use. There are professional and student chapters that solicit or support humanitarian efforts around the world and complete various projects over a period of several months or years.

Rotary Club
Rotary Clubs have been providing service to the community and have a worldwide goal of erradicating polio. They are providing the funding for both projects I will be helping through Engineers Without Borders.

Currency Converter
Always useful when budgeting out a trip!

WordPress Plug-ins
Check out some pages that I’ve used to help make my website

Vayama Etiquette Vayama has a great travel section on each coutry and common etiquette faux pas and advice. Great no matter where you plan to go!

Feedburner I’m using Feedburner to let you know when I update my site. Check out the site, especially if you have a blog site of your own that you want to track.

Geology of the Trek The Gneiss, the Bad, and the Schisty….This is my brother’s page on the geology of my trip. He’s a geologist so he’s got this under control, ask him if you have any questions.
